Screening on the centenary of the first day of the 1916 Rising, this landmark documentary tells the dramatic story of the events that took place in Dublin during Easter Week 1916, when a small group of Irish rebels took on the might of the British Empire.

Narrated by Liam Neeson, the film is an initiative of the Keough-Naughton Institute for Irish Studies at the University of Notre Dame.

There will be a talk by Professor Lance Pettitt, Director of the Centre for Irish Studies at St. Mary's University and specialist in cinema, television and cultural history of Ireland after the screening.
