Join us at the Irish World Heritage Centre, Manchester for the second screening of Older Than Ireland in our Northern England tour, accompanied by a Q&A with the film's director Alex Fegan.
Older Than Ireland features thirty men and women aged 100 years and over. Often funny and at times poignant, the film explores each centenarian's journey, from their birth at the dawn of Irish independence to their life as a centenarian in modern day Ireland. The film's observational style offers a rare insight into the personal lives of these remarkable individuals.
Meet the Director! This free screening will be accompanied by an exclusive chance to meet the director Alex Fegan, who also directed the award winning The Irish Pub.
“We're delighted that we can share with general public and Manchester Irish Community Care client group a free screening and chat with director. For ICC friends in particular, it’s a great opportunity to bring elder community together to share experiences. Social opportunities like this help reduce social isolation and build resilience and provide everyone concerned with an opportunity to come together and chat.” - Dr Julie Mullaney, Culture and Education Officer, Irish World Heritage Centre, Manchester
